Washington, D.C. — U.S. Representatives Don Bacon (R-NE) and Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) have unveiled the culmination of the Quality of Life Panel's work in a bipartisan report released today. The report includes policy recommendations for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

In the report, Rep. Don Bacon emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges faced by military families, stating, "No servicemember should ever have to be on SNAP or go to food banks to feed their families... The Panel’s bipartisan policy recommendations seek to make significant improvements in the quality of life for our servicemembers and their families."

Ranking Member of the Quality of Life Panel, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the significance of supporting service members and their families. She expressed gratitude towards her colleagues for their hard work in ensuring the report addresses crucial issues impacting military families.

He underscored the report's role as the foundation for the FY25 NDAA in improving the quality of life for servicemembers and their families.

Ranking Member Adam Smith emphasized the report's focus on service members and their families, noting the importance of initiatives such as a 15 percent pay raise, improved military housing, childcare access, spousal support programs, and healthcare services in recruiting and retaining a strong fighting force.
